A territory-wide campaign aims at enhancing primary and secondary students' resistance to drugs. It also encourages families and people from different social sectors to show their support for the younger generation and let them know they are not alone in the battle against drug addiction. |

Participating schools are suggested to encourage students to wear the Heart Knot during the week of 19 October and invite students' families to sign the pledge card to show their support. With teachers' guidance, students will sign the pledge card in front of the class and display it on campus. Participating schools are encouraged to organize some anti-drugs activities during the week of 19 October, such as a slogan or essay writing competition, debate, or report and so forth. |

The Heart Knot is a kind of Chinese Knots which symbolizes unity. The knot is made of blue and yellow braided string representing "discipline" and "ambition" respectively. We wish that our younger generation will have the same characteristics as what the colors symbolize. The idea of Knotting Hearts Action comes from overseas experiences including the "Red Ribbon Week" in the United States, which is a nation-wide anti-drugs campaign with a history of over 20 years. Students will wear a red ribbon and sign a pledge card during the campaign week. |

We will also invite people and enterprises from different social sectors to join the campaign to make it a real mass campaign with united efforts. NGOs are welcome to request the Heart Knots, pledge cards and magnetic bookmarks (with the telephone number of psychotropic substance abusers councelling agencies) from Economic Synergy and distribute them to the students who attend the anti-drug talk in school (until the stock lasts). |
